Anne Gradl

Where things have become heavy, they may become lighter again - not because everything is easy, but because something can shift, creating space for relief, greater ease and a sense of flow.

I'm here to support you in reconnecting more deeply with yourself: with your feelings, thoughts, body, and the inner parts that wish to be seen and integrated.

My Approach and Offer

I am a licensed psychological psychotherapist and work from a systemic, trauma-sensitive, resource-oriented and body-informed perspective. My therapeutic approach is grounded in a deep trust in the strengths, capacities, and potential for growth that exist within every person - even when they may need to be rediscovered or accessed in new ways.

I understand thoughts, emotions, bodily responses, and behaviours as interconnected expressions of inner processes. Many patterns that feel burdensome today were once meaningful and adaptive responses. In our work together, we make space to understand and honour these patterns, while opening up new possibilities for choice, change, and self-agency.

My years of experience in the international humanitarian context within the UN have also shaped my understanding of demanding life and work realities, as well as the dynamics of responsibility, identity, and cultural context.

The therapeutic process is guided by clarity, depth, and mindful attention – with care, at your pace, and with a focus on what truly helps you move forward. Alongside evidence-based methods, curiosity, lightness, and humour may also be part of the process.

Individual Therapy

A protected space in which personal concerns can be explored, connections can become visible, and new perspectives can emerge. This may open up new possibilities for how you relate to yourself, others, and everyday life.

I support you in recognising recurring patterns and interactional dynamics, gaining a deeper understanding of your inner processes, and reconnecting with your own expertise and existing resources. Where appropriate and helpful, important attachment figures or significant others can be included in the process.

Possible themes:

  • Ongoing stress, inner restlessness, or exhaustion
  • Perfectionism and high inner expectations
  • “Functioning” while feeling internally depleted
  • Transitions, crises, and reorientation
  • Relationship issues and recurring patterns
  • Mental load, care work, and role strain
  • Processing difficult or distressing experiences
  • Physical symptoms, such as sleep difficulties, appetite changes, or pain

Format:

  • 50 or 100 minutes
  • German & English
  • In person in Munich & online
  • Usually weekly sessions, adapted as needed over time

Group Therapy combined with Individual Therapy

Group therapy offers opportunities for connection, new perspectives, and meaningful relational experiences. Individual sessions provide space to explore personal themes in greater depth and integrate what emerges in the group.

Combining both formats creates a therapeutic setting in which individual development and interpersonal learning can complement one another. The group is experiential and resource-oriented and is facilitated with care to provide a safe, supportive, and nuanced therapeutic environment.

Format:

  • Introductory individual sessions
  • Weekly in-person group therapy sessions of 100 minutes for 3-4 month
  • Additional individual sessions available as needed
  • Group of 5-9 participants
  • German & English
  • In person in Munich & online

Couples Therapy

Relationships evolve - and sometimes closeness, trust, or ease can fall out of balance. Couples therapy offers a protected space to pause, understand relational dynamics, and explore new ways of connecting.

The focus is not on who is “right”, but on understanding what is happening in moments of conflict, distance, or withdrawal. Protective strategies, bodily responses, and unspoken needs are given space in a clear, structured, and non-blaming way.

I hold a safe therapeutic frame in which different perspectives can be heard. This can help loosen stuck patterns and support more conscious, connected ways of relating to one another.

At the heart of the process are mutual understanding, emotional connection, and new possibilities for how you meet each other as a couple.

Format:

  • 100 minutes
  • German & English
  • In person in Munich & online
  • 4-12 sessions
  • Frequency according to need, often every 2-4 weeks

Coaching

Coaching is for people who would like to pause, gain clarity, and realign - personally or professionally. It can be particularly helpful during decision-making processes, transitions, periods of high professional responsibility, or when there is a wish for more conscious personal or professional development.

In my coaching work, I combine systemic clarity with body awareness and concrete next steps.

Format:

  • 50 or 100 minutes
  • German & English
  • Online & in person in Munich
  • Frequency according to need

Workshops & Supervision

People change and grow within the context of their relationships, teams, and wider systems. Workshops and supervision therefore focus on the places where collaboration works well - or begins to feel strained. Together, we explore patterns, clarify what is needed, and develop practical ways forward.

Possible topics include self-care, stress regulation, needs and boundaries, nonviolent communication, team development, and dealing with pressure, uncertainty, and change. The content and format are tailored to the specific needs of each group.

I bring many years of experience in designing and facilitating workshops, including through my work with UNICEF and Paula Panke e.V. I currently provide supervision for volunteers at the Bellevue di Monaco cultural centre.

Format:

  • Available in German and English
  • In person, with travel expenses covered, or online
  • Duration and frequency tailored to needs

Fees

Statutory Health Insurance (GKV)
For clients with German statutory health insurance, I offer psychotherapy within the framework of a temporary practice coverage arrangement. Currently only waiting list. Reimbursement via the Kostenerstattungsverfahren may also be possible. I’m happy to support you in navigating the process.

Private Health Insurance
For clients with private health insurance, Beihilfe or Heilfürsorge, I offer individual psychotherapy as well as a combination of group and individual therapy. Fees are calculated according to the German Fee Schedule for Psychotherapists (GOP). Depending on your individual insurance plan, the costs are usually reimbursed in full or in part. Please clarify the specific conditions with your insurance provider in advance.

CIGNA Healthcare reimbursement possible.

Self-Funding Clients
Individual psychotherapy as well as a combination of group and individual therapy can also be paid fully privately without disclosing any information to third parties. Fees are likewise based on the GOP and will be discussed transparently before therapy begins.

Couples Therapy & Coaching
Couples therapy and coaching do not constitute medical psychotherapy as defined by the German statutory health insurance system. They are therefore generally not covered by health insurance and must be paid for privately.

  • 50 minutes: €140
  • 100 minutes: €280

Workshops & Supervision
Fees are agreed on an individual basis. Reduced rates may be available for nonprofit organisations, depending on capacity.

Cancellation Policy
Scheduled appointments are binding. Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge up to 36 hours in advance. For missed appointments or cancellations made less than 36 hours before the scheduled session, a cancellation fee of 75% of the full fee will apply.

Diversity and Inclusion

My practice aims to offer a respectful and as safe a space as possible for people with diverse identities, ways of life, relationship constellations, and personal histories. People who identify as LGBTIQ+, those living in queer or non-heteronormative relationships and family structures, as well as people with migration, refugee, or international life experiences, are explicitly welcome.

Unfortunately, the practice rooms are not wheelchair accessible. However, psychotherapy sessions can also be offered online.

Contact & Initial Consultation

Taking the first step can feel big, but it can begin simply: by reaching out when you feel ready. For questions or to arrange an initial consultation, please contact me by email. I will respond as soon as possible, subject to availability.

In your first message, please include only organisational information, such as a very brief description of your enquiry, your insurance coverage or payment option, possible days and times for appointments, and an email address and phone number where I can reach you to coordinate the initial consultation.

During the initial consultation, we will discuss details of the collaboration, possible questions or concerns and explore what kind of support and setting is most suitable.
